N-BiG hosted a delegation from Uganda, with special guest Mr. Johnson Ndokosho, Director of Forestry from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry & Tourism (MEFT), who shared valuable insights on regulatory measures.
The purpose of the Ugandan visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of Namibia’s biomass sector, with a particular focus on charcoal production, certification, and export/trade.
Discussions highlighted various aspects of the biomass sector’s processes and systems in Namibia, including N-BiG’s industry role, governance approaches, biomass processing, biomass quantification, and available certification schemes, with a strong emphasis on market development.
The dialogue underscored the way forward for enhancing collaborations between Namibia and Uganda, fostering opportunities for knowledge transfer, sustainable trade partnerships, and expanding market access.
